Ayurveda
The Sanscrit word Ayurveda describes holistic healing science and comprises the root words:
“Ayu” and “Veda”: “Ayu” means “life” and “Veda” means “knowledge” or “science” – so the literal meaning of the word “Ayurveda” is “the science of life” or “the knowledge of life”.
The central principle of Ayurveda is that every person has a unique constitution and to stay healthy, this constitutionmust be kept in balance.
We can achieve it by using:
- Ayurvedic massages & treatments;
- Herbs, herbal remedies and supplements;
- Nutritional advice tailored to bring a balance to a person’s Doshas;
- Advice on lifestyle habits;
- Specially selected Yoga postures
Ayurveda is prevention-oriented, free from harmful side-effects and treats the root cause of a disease rather than just the symptoms. Ayurveda shows the perfect way to live in a harmony with the Laws of Nature.
Ayurveda was first recorded in the Vedas, the world’s oldest extant literature; this healing system has been practiced in daily life in India for more than 5000 years (…) It is a healing life-science, the mother of all healing arts, and the practice of Ayurveda is designed to promote human hapinness, health and creative growth”.
